Occupation: I am the director of Parish Education at St Rose; that means cradle to grave education. Obviously, our largest program is the children's, with over 1,600 kids involved, plus over 400 in the school.

Family: My husband, John, and I have been married for 33 years. We have a daughter, Jaclyn, married to Dan and we have two grandchildren. Jack is 2 years old and Haley was just born March 25. Our son Craig is 28 years old, and our son Daniel, 26, and his fiancée, Martha, will get married July 5. Our sons are in business with their father at Marblelife here in Newtown, restoring natural stone.
Pets: We have a 10-year-old husky/chow mix dog named Sadie. And we have an 18-year-old cat, Ollie. They both are our loves.
How long have you lived in Newtown? We have lived here for 33 years, from the day we were married. We even live in the same house.
What do you like to do in your free time? John and I love to play cards. Every morning and every night we play cribbage. We love playing other card games with our friends and family on the weekends. Our whole family loves games. And I love to garden, mostly flowers. I also love to read.
Do you have a favorite book? My favorite author is Henri Nouwen and the book I just love reading of his is called Here and Now. If I get distracted I pick up that book and he brings me back to the present and being aware of the joy of the present moment, instead of the worries about the future or the past.
Do you have a favorite travel destination? Prince Edward Island. My husbandâs family came from there and when his parents passed away they left us a little cottage on the beach there, so we go there every year. We like to clam, we walk to the lighthouse every morning for breakfast, and the sunsets are unbelievable.
What is the best thing about Newtown? The people. They are friendly and generous. When you go into any grocery store in town everyone always looks up and smiles. I love that. You always feel a connection with the people. Thereâs a different atmosphere in Newtown.
What is your fondest memory? My fondest memories are always centered on family and the joy and acceptance of family â being together, laughing, wherever we are.
Do you have a personal philosophy? I like to think that every day you are open to the opportunities God has planned. Then every day becomes an adventure, even when there is sorrow.
Do you have a guilty pleasure? After an especially long or exhausting day, I love the combination of peanut M&Ms and a glass of white Riesling. I know it sounds bizarre.
