One More Weekend For ‘Veterans’ Memorial Garden’

RIDGEFIELD — “A Veterans Memorial Garden” is the title of an exhibit of painting by Noelle Carr that is on display at The Ridgefield Library until November 29. The show honors American veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

“My intent is to express gratitude to our troops and their families and remember all of the men and women who have served in America’s Armed Forces, including those who never made it home,” said Ms Carr.

As part of the exhibit Ms. Carr has partnered with A Million Thanks, an organization that has, so far, sent over 3 million letters to troops. Visitors to the show can leave their own letters of thanks that will be sent to the troops at the close of the exhibit. A portion of sales from the show will also be donated to Wounded Warrior Project.

Noelle Carr earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History at SUNY Purchase. She lives in Ridgefield and is a member of the Ridgefield Guild of Artists. Her work has been featured in many area exhibitions and is represented in several private collections throughout the North East.

The library is at 472 Main Street (Route 35);  call 203-438-2282.
