COLUMBUS, OHIO â Leslie H. Wexner, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Intimate Brands, Inc. (Victoriaâs Secret and Bath & Body Works), announced the appointment of former Newtown resident Michael D. Newman as vice president and CFO. Mr Newman joins Intimate Brands from Hussmann International, where he was vice president and CFO. He fills the Intimate Brands post vacated by Philip E. Mallott upon his recent retirement.

Mr Newman, 43, joined Hussmann International, the $1.3 billion global manufacturer of refrigerated display equipment, in 1996. His responsibilities there included treasury, risk management, general accounting, internal auditing, financial planning, and analysis and mergers and acquisitions. He led the companyâs initial public offering in 1998 following its spin-off from Whitman Corporation.
From 1978 through 1996 he established a career at General Electric and held positions of increasing responsibility across corporate financial functions, as well as in business divisions including GE Silicones Europe, GE Superabrasives, and GE Plastics.
Mr Newman holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Amherst College. He and his wife, Judy, will reside in Columbus, Ohio.
