Marching Band And

Color Guard Take First Place

The Newtown High School Marching Band and Color Guard took first place in Class IV at both the Bethel Home Show on October 13 and again at the Jonathan Law Home Show on October 20.

“Once again, Newtown High School’s performance was stellar at both competitions,” said Band Parent Donna Kakadeles.

The scores of all the competing bands from the Bethel and Jonathan Law Home shows are listed below. As is the case with the hosting school, Bethel and Jonathan Law did not receive scores for their performances at their home shows.

The NHS Band and Color Guard will be performing at Naugatuck High Saturday, October 27. The gates open at 5 pm.

Scores from Bethel Home Show, October 13:

Class I: Mahopac Cavaliers, 68.15

Class III: Bethel High School Marching Wildcats, 77.85

Class IV: Newtown High School Marching Band and Color Guard, 88.35; Danbury High School Marching Band, 83.85

Class V: New Milford High School Marching Band, 86.05

Scores from Jonathan Law Home Show:

Class I: Somers High School Marching Band, 72.50; Bridgeport Central High School Marching Band, 68.75

Class III: Brookfield High School Marching Band, 74.65; Shelton High School Marching Band, 82.55

Class III: Fitch Falcon Band, 75.45

Class IV: Newtown High School Marching Band and Color Guard, 90.25; Naugatuck High School Marching Band, 86.70; Brien McMahon High School, 86.70; Masuk High School Marching Band, 80.95
