Emergency Preparedness Training For Seniors
An Emergency Preparedness for Seniors Workshop will be held at Lockwood Lodge at Ashlar of Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road, on Thursday, September 23, from 10 am to noon.
Older Americans are among the most vulnerable members of society in the event of a natural or manufactured disaster. The event is free and offers useful information on preparing an emergency plan and survival kit while learning what to do during disasters.
The workshop is co-sponsored by RSVP of Fairfield County. Presenters include Barry Rickert, fire marshal for Danbury; âRockyâ Tomlinson, emergency and community services director of the American Red Cross of Western Connecticut; and Andy McGuire, the emergency services coordinator of Danbury Hospital.
