William T. Magee
William T. Magee, 77, of 101 Great Ring Road, Sandy Hook, formerly of East Haven, died February 1 in Branford.
Born December 25, 1923, in New Haven, he was a son of the late Edward James and Georgianna (Paquette) Magee, Sr. He was a graduate of Fairfield University and prior to his retirement was the personnel director for the Hospital of St Raphael and the Silver Hill Foundation of New Canaan.
Mr Magee was a member of the Connecticut State Police Auxiliary for over 25 years, mostly with Troop L in Bethany, and was a member of the State Police Pipers Color Guard. He was also a member of the New Haven Gaelic Pipe Band, a 32nd degree mason with Hiram Lodge AF&AM; a member, past worthy patron of Georgia Chapter No. 48 OES and Woodbury Chapter OES; and a past grand chaplain of the Grand Chapter of Connecticut OES.
He is survived by a brother, Edward J. Magee, Jr, of Florida; sisters, Helen Schetzel of New Haven, Margaret Larson Smith of Florida, and Eleanor Estes Enix of Arizona; a dear friend, Rocco A. Bonanducci of Sandy Hook; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, John A. Magee, predeceased him.
The funeral was held from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven, to a Mass of Christian Burial in St Mary Church in New Haven. Burial was in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
