This Saturday I will be participating in a modeling pageant at Shelton High School for the title of Miss Junior Teen of New Haven. The night before I will have a personal interview with the judges as the part of the pageant that counts the most. The other contestants and I, aged 6-23, will compete for scholarships and prizes, awarded to each of five different age groups. Winners will be selected according to poise and personality. We will be modeling casual wear and formal wear. During the formal wear modeling, we will answer a question given to us several hours earlier. How and what we answer will have a major effect on our overall score.

Area business, family and friends have provided the sponsorships necessary for me to compete. I am very thankful to them for their support.

Julie Allen Bridals gave me a beautiful gown from their sample rack, which my grandmother, Vivian Newill, tailored to fit me.
