SOUTHBURY â In the end, there was little change in the South-West Conference hierarchy following the championship meet last Saturday at Pomperaug High School in Southbury.
Lauralton Hall came in first, just as expected, with a cumulative score of 466 points. Pomperaug finished a distant second, with 310 points, while Bunnell (242 points) and New Fairfield (205 points) finished third and fourth.
The Lady Nighthawks of Newtown, meanwhile, finished eighth overall with 144 points, just ahead of Brookfield (133 points). Foran (106 points), Jonathan Law (52 points) and Stratford (42 points) all finished in the bottom tier.
Newtownâs best finish on the night was a sixth-place in the initial event, the 200-yard medley relay.
The diving portion of the event was held last Wednesday, in its entirety, and Tracey Samuels of Newtown was 10th overall with 223.25 points.
