Harold William Fagan

Beloved Husband, Father, And Grandfather

Harold “Murph” William Fagan, 81, of Oxford, the beloved husband of 60 years of Katherine Kinney Fagan, died March 22, at Griffin Hospital, Derby, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bridgeport, January 26, 1929, the son of Harold E. and Katherine Jacobson Fagan.

His loving family, in addition to his wife, includes his loving daughter, Sandra Kummer and her husband, Walter, of Seymour; his beloved sister, Mildred Kilson and her husband, Charles, of Sandy Hook; five cherished grandchildren; and his four cherished great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Mark Harold Fagan.

He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps, and held the rank of lance corporal. He was a member of the David S. Miles Post 174 American Legion of Oxford. Mr Fagan retired in 1993 from the New Haven Copper Company of Seymour, where he had been employed for 32 years.

He moved to Oxford from Sandy Hook in 1957, and attended Christ Church Quaker Farms. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr Fagan will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 26, at 11 am, at Christ Church Quaker Farms, 470 Quaker Farms Road, Oxford, for a Requiem Eucharist, with Father George Crocker, Rector, officiating. Interment in the family plot, with full military honors accorded, will be at Brookside Cemetery, Oxford.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, March 25, from 5 to 8 pm, at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Route 67, opposite Klarides Village), Seymour.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Quaker Farms Fire Company of Oxford, through the funeral home.
