State Police reported that on December 7 at about 8:31 am Cheryl Jablonowski, 29, of Beacon Manor Circle in Naugatuck was operating a 2010 Ford Fusion westbound on Interstate 84 just east of Exit 11, when she slid into the rear of a 1995 Honda that had stopped for traffic. The driver of the Honda, Paulina Fontanez, 20, of Waterbury complained of a possible neck injury but reportedly refused medical treatment at the scene. The offending driver was charged with traveling too fast for conditions.
Traveling Too fast
On December 6 at about 9:12 am, State Police responded to the area of the Exit 9 on ramp of Interstate 84 after a report of a minor rear-end collision. Police say Nicholas Johnson, 26, of Soap Street in Dayville was operating a 2002 Nissan sedan when he failed to stop before hitting a 2007 Scion TC being operated by Matty Feldman, 21, of John Beach Road in Newtown. Johnson was issued an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.
Guardrail Collision
State Police responded to a single car crash on the Exit 10 on ramp to Interstate 84 at about 9:57 am on December 6. According to the report, Nicholas Gabor, 27, of Stratford was attempting to enter the highway driving a 2005 Ford Ranger when he apparently lost control on a curve striking a metal beam guardrail, damaging the left rear of the pickup truck. The operator was determined to be at fault and was charged with traveling too fast for conditions.
