Dorothy âDollyâ T. Rogers, 105, died August 4, at the River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury. She was born January 11, 1905, in Richmond Hill, Long Island, N.Y., the daughter of Willis F. and Gertrude Pierce Taplin.
 Mrs Rogers was the wife of the late Lyman F. Rogers, and mother of L. Douglas Rogers of Newtown and Lynn Rogers Porter of Cambridge, Mass. Five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four nieces and nephews also survive her.
Mrs Rogers taught elementary school in Richmond Hill for a few years, and married Lyman F. Rogers of Malden, Mass., in 1927. They lived in Trumbull before, throughout, and long after the Second World War. During those years, she was active in many organizations, including the Fairfield County Girl Scouts, where she served as its director. She was also active in the Republican Town Committee of Trumbull, the Barnum Festival in Bridgeport, and the Fairfield/Bridgeport Symphony.
 An accomplished artist, she was the designer of the logo for the Trumbull Historical Society, and for the medal struck for the towns 175th Anniversary in 1972.
The Rogers were among the first to move to Heritage Village in Southbury in 1972.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff and caregivers at River Glen for their exceptional and gracious care extended to Mrs Rogers over the past six years. A family gathering will be held at a later date, and interment will take place in the Memorial Garden at Grace Church in Long Hill.
