Mozart, Merlot And Mums Gathering Raises Money For Kevin’s Community Center

Supporters of Kevin’s Community Center (KCC), a clinic that provides free medical care to the uninsured and underinsured in town, gathered at the Main Street home of Shane and George Miller on Saturday, September 10, for this year’s Mozart, Merlot and Mums event.

Proceeds from the event benefit Kevin’s Community Center.

The community gathering included music, wine tasting, and garden tours. Attendees were also asked to bring donations for FAITH Food Pantry.

Mike Kerler of Sandy Hook Wine & Liquor provided the wine for the fundraiser.

Other event support came from the Newtown Police and Highway Departments, the Newtown Health District, C.H. Booth Library, Everything Newtown, St Rose of Lima Church, R.E. Lawlor Graphics & Printing, Mohegan Sun Casino, and the Nostrand family.

In the event’s program, KCC Director Z. Michal Taweh said with the community’s support the center has provided more than $2.5 million in health care since 2003.

This year marked the fourth year for Mozart, Merlot and Mums, and was chaired by Michael Ronan and Dr Taweh.
