Beloved By Family

And Friends

Margaret M. Cassidy, 51, of Sandy Hook, beloved wife and best friend of Cameron “Ron” Eiseman, died July 2, surrounded by her family. She was born in Hartford.

She leaves behind the two loves of her life, her daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” L. Eiseman and her son, Cameron “Cam” P. Eiseman. She is survived by her mother, Jeannette (LeMay) Cassidy of West Hartford; and was blessed with four sisters, Patricia Pandozzi, and her husband Jon, of East Windsor; Maureen Potaski, and her husband Ed, of West Hartford; Kathleen Cassidy of West Hartford, and Mary C. Tillson of Farragut, Tenn. Sisters-in-law Carolyn Eiseman, and her husband,Dale Hauser, of Bethel; and Jeanne Tepper, and her husband Michael, of West Bloomfield, Mich., also survive Ms Cassidy. She leaves a host of nieces and nephews with whom she has been fortunate to have shared in their lives. Ms Cassidy was predeceased by her father, Philip Cassidy.

Ms Cassidy received her undergraduate and MSW from the University of Connecticut, and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Hartford. She had for many years been a staff social worker at St Francis Hospital and Medical Center, before devoting her full attention to her family.

She was a bright, energetic person, who did not shrink from living life to the fullest, even under the long siege of serious illness. She was active in her community and church, and took great pride in the work she did through the Newtown United Methodist Church’s Outreach Committee.

The family deeply appreciates the unceasing support given by their friends, neighbors, and colleagues throughout Ms Cassidy’s illness. They wish also to thank Dr Gregory Riely of Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital and his staff. The family offers a special thanks to the nurses on ninth floor chemotherapy suite for their care and support over the years.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday July 7, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, from 5 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Newtown United Methodist Church, 92 Church Hill Road, Sandy Hook, Friday July 8, at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Ms Cassidy’s name to the Newtown United Methodist Church, Outreach Committee, 92 Church Hill Road, Sandy Hook CT 06482 or to Memorial Sloan Kettering, Thoracic Research Fund, Attn: Sandra Ansari, 20th Floor, 633 Third Avenue, New York NY 10016.
