Louis J. Savino, 72, of Bridgeport, died November 9 in his home. Mr Savino was born in Bridgeport, and was a lifelong area resident.
He is survived by his wife, Joan OâNiel Savino; a sister, Roberta Forno of Sandy Hook; three sons, Louis T. Savino of Bridgeport, John A. Savino of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Christopher Savino of Bridgeport; four daughters, Mary Santiago and her husband, Edwin, Geraldine Savino, Cheryl Savino, and Lisa Savino, all of Bridgeport; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Steven, John, and Cara; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Mark Savino; and a sister, Evelyn Poklemba, predeceased him.
Mr Savino was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Peerless Aluminum Foundry of Bridgeport. He was an avid Mets and Jets fan and his grandchildren were the light of his life. Funeral services were held November 13 in the Larson Funeral Home, Bridgeport. Burial was in Mt Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
