Nader To Appear On Connecticut Presidential Ballot

HARTFORD (AP) — Ralph Nader will appear as a candidate on Connecticut’s presidential ballot this November.

The Winsted resident’s campaign has submitted nearly 17,000 signatures to the Secretary of the State’s Office, more than twice the number needed under state law to qualify as a presidential contender in his home state.

Nader, who ran for president in four previous elections, is running this year as an independent candidate. His running mate is Matt Gonzalez, a San Francisco politician and lawyer.

Christina Tobin, the campaign’s national ballot coordinator, says Nader’s campaign has collected enough signatures to appear on the ballot in about 28 states so far. She says she is confident Nader will ultimately be a candidate in 45 states by Election Day.
