Teikyo Post, UNH Graduate Business Programs
WATERBURY â Teikyo Post University (TPU), in association with the University of New Haven (UNH), will for the first time offer career-oriented graduate degree programs on the TPU campus in the fall. Courses leading to master of business administration (MBA) and executive master of science in engineering management (EMSEM) degrees begin September 8.
Entire degree programs will be offered at TPU, according to a joint announcement recently by Lawrence J. DeNardis, president of UNH, and Jon Jay DeTemple, president of TPU.
âWe have been receiving requests for graduate programs from our alumni for the past several years,â Dr DeTemple said. âThe UNH MBA and the EMSEM will meet a clear need for graduate programs in an accelerated format in the Northwest quadrant of the state. The cohort programs will allow TPU alumni and other area professionals to earn their graduate degrees in less than two years without career interruption. We think that model will be especially attractive to business in our area.
âAlmost on a daily basis,â continued Dr DeTemple, âwe are seeing the benefits of partnering â colleges with other colleges, universities with corporations. This association with UNH is an excellent example of the benefits to be gained for the adult students in our area by two schools collaborating.â
âUNH has been experiencing an increased demand for career accelerating graduate programs in northwest Connecticut,â Dr DeNardis said. âWe now serve a substantial number of adult learners from the region at our West Haven campus and previously offered classes at St Margaret McTiernan School in Waterbury. We are delighted to return to Waterbury and, with Teikyo Post University, to expand our outreach by offering, in the UNH tradition, quality programs that respond to studentsâ career-related needs.â
Classes for the MBA and EMSEM programs will meet on Saturdays, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, starting September 8. Students who begin the program this September and maintain the schedule will complete their degrees in June 2003.
An information session will be held at Teikyo Postâs Traurig Library Board Room Wednesday, July 18, from 5:30 to 7 pm. Call 800-582-8250 for more information.
