Memorial Exhibit In Roxbury
Memorial Exhibit In Roxbury
ROXBURY â Photographs by a long time Roxbury resident, who died earlier this year, are being shown for the first time at Roxbury Minor Memorial Library through March 31.
âGary was very excited about the first public exhibit of his work and participated in planning for the show right up to his death. Our family is so pleased that the townâs library is making this possible,â said Linda Adams, the artistâs widow.
The exhibit is the culmination of years of photographing Roxbury landmarks and scenic views in addition to other areas around New England and beyond, many of which will be on display. âOur family plans to use the proceeds from the sale of Garyâs photographs for a memorial concert at the library in Roxbury,â said Mrs Adams.
An independent insurance agent for 25 years and president of the Connecticut Insurance Agency in Sandy Hook, Mr Adams was an active participant in many Roxbury community activities. He served as chairman for 12 of his 18 years on the townâs Board of Finance and was chief for five of his 26 years with Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department.
The exhibit will be on display during regular library hours: Monday, 10 am to 6 pm; Wednesday, 10 am to 7 pm; Friday, 10 am to 8 pm; and Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm. Minor Memorial Library, at 23 South Street, can be reached by calling 860/350-2181.
