Dinner In Treadwell Park
Dinner In Treadwell Park
Spring is here and itâs time to check those important summer fun dates. Residents of Newtown are invited to circle July 14 on their summer calendars for Dinner-In-The-Park, a gourmet dinner for all of Newtown. The enjoyable evening will include a scrumptious dinner and exciting auctions, all presented and sponsored by Newtown Democratic Town Committee, which will also benefit from the fundraiser.
The public is invited to enjoy beautiful Treadwell Park with all its fun activities: swimming, tennis, swings, games and more. In addition, enjoyment will come during a search for outstanding bargains in the stimulating silent and live auctions. Free door prizes will also be awarded.
The noted gourmet chef Jay Gill, a Newtown favorite, has prepared a mouth-watering summertime menu to delight any palate. Dinner will include succulent done-to-your-liking, broiled tenderloin steaks and juicy roasted chicken, with all the delicious trimmings prepared with his professional touch.
Congressman Jim Maloney, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz, and First Selectman Herb Rosenthal are among the national, state and local officials who are expected to be in attendance as guest auctioneers.
Tickets for dinner in the park, at $25 each, are available from members of the Democratic Town Committee. The event will begin at 6 pm at Treadwell Park, on Philo Curtis Road in Sandy Hook. For additional information contact Richard Pilchard at 426-5272.
