‘SEEING THE CITY’ ON VIEW AT DELAWARE ART MUSEUM

WILMINGTON, DEL. — The Delaware Art Museum will present the exhibition, “Seeing the City: Sloan’s New York,” on view through January 20.

The exhibition presents New York City through the eyes of John Sloan in this exhibition, a significant appraisal of Sloan’s art in 30 years.

Featuring paintings, drawings, prints and photographs, the exhibition presents an in-depth view of John Sloan’s years in the city and the city’s effect on his art. Far from glamorizing the emerging vertical vistas of skyscrapers, Sloan focused instead on people, street life, elevated trains, public spaces and the pedestrian experience.
