Owned Sunshine Cleaning Service In Newtown
Joseph W. Latham, 78, died December 14 at his home in Fort Pierce, Fla. He was born in Milford, Conn.
He served in the US Navy in World War II and was employed as factory manager by the Waterbury Lock in Milford. Before retiring in 1990, he was the owner of Sunshine Cleaning Service in Newtown.
Upon retiring he moved to Kissimmee, Fla., where he resided for ten years before moving to Fort Pierce. He was a member of White City United Methodist Church in Fort Pierce.
Survivors include his wife Phyllis Williams Latham of Fort Pierce; a son, William J. Latham of Jensen Beach, Fla.; daughters Diane Vorrase of St Augustine, Fla., and Joanne Latham of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Donald Latham of Hamden, Conn.; and two granddaughters, Leanne Witt of St Augustine and Loren Vorrase of Waterbury.
A funeral service was conducted at Yates Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend D. Clark Thompson officiating. A military burial was held at the White City Cemetery in Fort Pierce.
