Long-Term Care Workshop At The Library
Long-Term Care Workshop At The Library
Joan M. Bouchard, CLU, ChFC, a financial consultant of Financial Underwriting in Danbury, will discuss the cost of long-term care and alternatives to using property or personal savings for expenses October 5, from 6 to 8 pm in the board room of the C.H. Booth Library on Main Street.
The workshop will discuss the cost of long-term care and the benefits of insurance to offset the cost.
Few private or group health insurance policies cover the cost of long-term care, so people with income and assets often end up paying for expenses directly out of their pockets.
Americans spend $125.2 billion annually on long-term care in nursing homes. The average annual cost of nursing home care today is $50,000, and the projected annual cost in ten years is expected to be $81,445.
Forty-three percent of people aged 65 and older will need it.
There is no fee for the workshop. Participants will receive a free 20-page workbook with information, exercises, and questions to help evaluate need for long-term care insurance. The workshop is educational only. No products or services will be offered for sale, and there is no obligation.
Seating is limited. For reservations, call 203/797-1203.
Ms Bouchard has been providing professional financial and insurance service to clients since 1983.
