Town Players Appreciate Newtown Support
To the Editor:
On behalf of Town Players of Newtown, Iâd like to thank the people of Newtown for their generous support over the past year. We put on a variety of shows this season â from comical farce to Shakespeare to the classic Christmas favorite, A Christmas Carol â all of which were well received.
Our recent staging of A Christmas Carol was such a success that we sold out nearly every performance. Due to its popularity, we looked in to extending the run, but unfortunately some of our actors had out-of-town obligations. We are pleased that we were able to work with the staff of Ashlar of Newtown to bring A Christmas Carol there for a performance for some of the residents, an experience that was enjoyed by all who participated.
Next year is our 75th anniversary season, and we hope the people of Newtown will once again share in the success that is Town Players. If you would like to become a part of our group or would like to sign up for our mailing list (email, snail mail or both) please drop us a line at townplayers@yahoo.com. And be sure to check our website (newtownplayers.org) and The Bee next February for our 2010 season lineup, membership information, and the opportunity to purchase season tickets. Civic groups are also invited to inquire about benefit performance opportunities.
The Little Theatre, located on Orchard Hill Road, has been called one of Newtownâs âbest kept secrets.â However, some secrets are just too good to keep. We hope that youâll spread the word to friends and family about the little theater on the hill. And we look forward to seeing you again next year.
