To the Editor:

I went for lunch at one of my favorite places in the Hook today. It was a little later, and the place was very quiet, which is perfect for me because I like to read while I eat. Unfortunately, today, one of the few other patrons chose to take a 20-minute cellphone call without stepping outside. And not only did I get to hear her entire side of the conversation, she had the caller on speakerphone, so I got to hear the other side as well.

The subject was some pretty sensitive medical issues; I heard way more than I wanted to.

I pay good money to have a peaceful lunch. Go outside with your cellphone calls, and for goodness sake don't put them on speaker.
