Mr and Mrs Michael Matthew Powers

Alyson Annie Harris, daughter of Richard and Patricia Harris of Newtown, and Michael Matthew Powers, son of Beatrice Powers of Brookfield and the late Ralph Powers, were joined in marriage in a ceremony at The Candlewood Inn in Brookfield on July 15.

Alexandra Zaleta served as maid of honor and Ralph Powers, brother of the groom, served as best man. Brendon Harris, brother of the bride, ushered.

Following the reception the couple traveled to Virginia Beach for a honeymoon.

The bride, a graduate of the University for Connecticut, is a teacher in Danbury. The groom, a University at Buffalo and Iona College graduate, also teaches in Danbury.

The couple is at home in Bridgewater.
