 Welcome Back To The Armory!

It gives me great pleasure to be bringing you one of the finest antiques shows Philadelphia can produce, The Original 23rd Street Armory Antiques Show.

Celebrating 12 exceptional years, our event continues to grow in reputation and stature among Pennsylvania collectors, as well as nationally. If it sounds I’m a bit prejudiced about our show, you’re right! I love the environment, the dealers, the city and the customers who enjoy and support our event. Plus, this year the show has grown by two new exhibitors now totaling 45 booths.

Continuing our tradition of providing more than just great exhibitors and their material, this year we present, “Best In Show,” an endearing look at our four legged friends, the family cat and dog in American folk art. Objects in the exhibit will cover the gamut from paintings to cast iron and all are loaned from our exhibitor’s personal collections. The exhibit is free with show admission so come and see what favorites you can find. In addition, if you bring dry or canned cat or dog food, packaged toy or treat, you can save $1 off admission and help a friend, as all donations will go to a local animal shelter.

Now being the only antiques show in Center City Philadelphia, we will be running a free shuttle bus to the Navy Pier and 30th Street Station making it easier for you to get around town. Look for the vans with the bright yellow roof top signs “Armory Antiques Show Free Shuttle.” But most important is that you start and end your Antiques Weekend with us this Friday through Sunday at 10 am.

Now more than ever before, antiques should be one of the most valuable assets your portfolio can contain. Art for the eye, jewels for the ego, furniture for the atmosphere and rugs for the comfort. Make your life richer and fuller with objects that have lived centuries and continue to seed recognition and envy from the schooled and knowledgeable observer.

During my past 38 years in the antiques business, the escalation of values for various categories of objects has been mind-boggling. But one thing always remains true; objects that are free of major restoration and maintain their original character will always be valuable. Just talk to any collector.

Once again, I welcome you to our show and on behalf of our exhibitors and sponsors, say “thank you” for making The Original 23rd Street Armory Antiques Show, your 12-year favorite in Philadelphia.

Sincerely,

Frank Gaglio
