EverWonder Children's Museum is pleased to announce its calendar for September 2016. The museum has events for the entire family. Programs are ongoing during regular museum hours unless otherwise noted.

Story Lab For Young Explorers meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 am. This 30-minute program of STEM themed stories, activities, and crafts takes place in the EverWonder classroom.

Parents must stay with their children during the program, which is free with museum admission.

Also ongoing will be two new Art Lab offerings, Apple Trees and Tegu.

In Apple Trees, children will create their own apple trees and count how many apples are in their bunch. In Tegu, children will learn basic engineering principles while using Tegu magnetic blocks to build freestanding structures.

Wednesday, September 7: Art Lab 3D: Paper Buses.

In honor of the start of the school year, children will cut, fold and glue to create three-dimensional school buses out of paper.

Wednesday, September 14: Science Lab: Aplie Slice Experiment.

Children will put apple slices into different liquids and observe what happens when the apple reacts to the liquid. Children will work on their observation skills during this science lab.

Thursday, September 15: Make A Hat Day: Newspaper Hats.

Are you a future fashion designer? Come make a hat in honor of National Make a Hat Day.

Children will celebrate this wacky holiday by creating their own newspaper hats. Will you make a crown, a fedora, a bowler, a top hat, or your own special design?

Wednesday, September 21: Science Lab: Index Card Science.

Children will use index cards to explore engineering (how to fold index cards to hold weight), and to see if they can cut the index card in a way where they can fit through the index card.

Wednesday, September 28: Science Lab: Balancing Robots.

Is it possible to make a robot stand on its hands? On this day, museum visitors will test balance and center of gravity through making balancing robots.

Children will make a paper robot and then manipulate the robot's center of gravity to test its balance through placing two pennies in various locations on the paper robot.

EverWonder Children's Museum is at 31 Pecks Lane. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.

Admission is $7 per person, with children under the age of 1 years old are free. Museum members are free. Parking at the museum is also free.
