Boys U8

Tigers 7, Golden Hawks 2 – Connor Gallagher, Wesley Morlock and Austin Raftery scored two goals apiece with Gallagher adding two assists to lead the Tigers. Daniel Hamula played well on defense. For the Hawks, Matthew Maturo and Joshua Tuffy each scored a goal while Thomas Meier provided a strong effort on defense.

Tigersharks 5, Blazing Blizzards 3 – Gabe Keogler scored two goals while Jordan Sock and Anthony Vournazos added one apiece to lead the ‘Sharks to the win. Constantine Gregoire played great in D. For the Blizzards, Mitchell Stewart had a hat trick with assists from Miguel Rodriguez and Henry Summ. Harry Duffy played well in goal and Danny Cummings played well in defense.

Werewolves 5, Wolverines 0 – Matt Rosa and Matt Hess powered the Werewolves’ offense while Carter Nordman and Zack Weiland played well. For the Wolverines, Charlie Poarch and Tyler Dullinger led the offense as Sander Nydell and Liam McNichols played well in the midfield.

Girls U8

Shooting Stars 3, Cheetahs 0 – Meaghan Brophy scored two goals and Meg Korchman scored one to lead the Shooting Stars to victory. Brooke Newton and Kaile Dunnigan played a strong defense. For the Cheetahs, Cate Haggerty played a strong defense, Aimee Alexander showed great goalkeeping skill, and Emily Papp and Haley Cobb played great offensive games.

Ball Hogs 4, Shockers 1 – Anna Northrop scored twice for the Ball Hogs and Sarah Lynch played great on offense and defense. Jillianne Lyon and Olivia Ingham also had strong games. Megan Meyer scored a goal for the Shockers while Kate Fallow played well on defense. Emily and Katherine Clark played great on offense.

Thunderbolts 4, Panthers 1 – Michelle Zarifis scored two goals while Danielle Shine had one to lead the ‘Bolts to the win. Jennifer Indelicato was solid in the net. For the Panthers, Lindsay Fuori scored the goal as Amanda Crowell and Rachel Zambernardi proved to be formidable defenders.

Bulldogs 4, Strikers 0 – Hope McMorran scored three goals and Alyssa Ruefenacht added one to lead the Bulldogs in the season opener. Genny Denault, Emma Burns and Aine Duffy all played well in goal. For the Strikers, Dale Shearin had a great game on offense, and Emily Grimes, Meghan Grimes and Taylor Brinker all played well.

Panthers 3, Huskies 3 – Shophie Johnston of the Panthers and Emily Riley of the Huskies scored three goals apiece as the game ended in a deadlock. For the Panthers, Amy Martinelli was solid in goal. For the Huskies, Tess Murray and Portia Baudisch played great on offense and Jenna Hansen was strong at the defensive end of the field.

Girls U10

Metrostars 1, Mighty Tigers 0 – Michaela Beaudry scored off an assist from Meaghan Harkins to lead the ‘Stars to the win. Alexis Black and Celeste Cheung both played well on defense. For the Tigers, Taylor Brady and Alyssa Finkenstadt played well on defense. Emily Ashbolt and Sydney Hansen had solid performances.

Fireflies 3, Firekickers 3 – Alex Klein scored two goals and Hannah Maret scored one to lead the ‘Flies. Amanda Stanton and goaltender Lauren Sarna anchored the defense. For the ‘Kickers, Dana Bowers scored two goals. Paige Kroha (defense), Emily Molloy (offense) and Lindsay Jossick (goalies) had excellent games.

Blaze 3, Crusaders 2 – Justina Paproski scored two goals and Amy Martin added one to lift the Blaze. Olivia Rowley and Ashley Cirone played great in goal. For the Crusaders, Zoe Eggleston and Kelsey Karp each scored a goal while Sally Martinelli and Meredith Bridges played well.

Firefeet 1, Jawbreakers 1 – Danielle Wandell of the Firefeet and Claire Miles of the Jawbreakers scored the lone goals in this tie. For the ‘Feet, Hayley Naphen and Nicole Rothenbucher each played well in net. For the ‘Breakers, Julianna Sclafani and Alexandra Duris played well in goal and Molly Bryant had a strong game on offense.

Boys U10

Team (#8) 3, Powerful Piglets 0 – James Marusi, Patrick Riccardi, and Robert Willis each scored a goal to lead Team #8 to the win. Tyler Coleman played great as goalie and Tarren Honath played great on defense for the Powerful Piglets.

Eagles 0, Mud Monkeys 0 – Nick Gerbo was outstanding both on offense and in the goal for the Eagles as David Tortora and Nathan Norwich anchored a strong defense. Chase Hutchison played well at midfield. For the Monkeys, goaltenders Ricky Fuentes and Ryan Moyer were very busy and made all the saves. Striker Yossi Kohrman-Glaser supplied the offensive pressure while Niles Wilson was solid on the wing.

Wildfire 4, Blue Dragons 1 – Fredrik Dean, Francis Afriyie, Paola Moscovici and Stefan Dullinger scored to lead the Wildfire to the win. For the Dragons, Timothy Bock scored as Daniel Olszewski, Jimmy Russo and Colin Moller had solid performances.

Wolverines 3, All Stars 2 – Brandon Marks scored two goals and Trevor Carey added one to lead the Wolverines. Thomas Healey had a strong game and Patrick Milano was dominant in the goal. For the Stars, Anders Fogelberg and Christian Barrett scored the goals while Sam Langdon led the defense and Taite Mansfield anchored the midfield.

Girls U14

Riptide 4, Mud Monkeys 1 – Rachel Taback scored two goals while Anna Bernath and Megan McGowan added one apiece to lead the Riptide to the win. Danni Villa was solid on D. For the Monkeys, Katie Cummings was busy turning back shots in goal with the defensive support of Lauren Faeth and Sam Wray. Jamie Keating scored the lone goal for the Monkeys.

Boys U14

Strikers 3, Blue Monkeys 2 – Harrison Gillis, Kevin Carney and Greg Muffatti each scored to lead the Strikers. Patrick Stein and George Delia played well in goal. For the Blue Monkeys, Stephen Forgione and Tom Murphy scored one each. Jacob Barrett was strong in the net and Patrick Shirley and Zachary LeMien both played well on defense.

Pink Woodchucks 4, Neon Salamanders 0 – Dan Kowarick and Tom Capozziello scored two goals apiece to power the Woodchucks to the win. Brian White and Kevin Dill had outstanding games. For the Salamanders, Christian Sayegh, Liam Ferguson, Brandon Body, Michael Giglio and Timothy Dalton played well.

Girls U10

The Newtown Flash kicked off their inaugural season with a pair of ties at the recent Farmington Shootout tournament. Tressa Scott scored to lead the offensive charge. Bridget Power, Melissa Buccino, Caitlin Yakush and Kelly Brooks were nearly impenetrable in goal all weekend. Morgan Kirol, Kristen Grabowski, Jenna Hindes, and Stephanie Roman led the dominant defense. In the midfield, aggressive play by Kristiana Engler, Samantha Salvatore, Julia Trudell, Brittany Tolla and Christina Gould allowed the Flash to control some of the finest programs in the state.

In a regular season effort against Brookfield last week, Morgan Kirol played well on defense while Kristiana Engler was a fireplug on the offensive side of the ball and had several near misses.

Boys U10

Newtown 1, Middlebury 0 – Keegan Lombard, Dan Bittman and Francis Saraceni were strong on both sides of the field to lead Newtown. Matt Rahtelli and Sean Elliott shared time in net for the shutout while Pieter Martino anchored the defense.

Boys U11

Western Massachusetts 2, Crusaders 0 – Andre Cappoziello and John Imbimbo played excellent offense with midfield support from Hank Helgren and Adam Ellison at the Farmington Shootout Tournament over Labor Day weekend. Dan Gallagher and Greg Campbell were tough on defense.

Crusaders 1, Glastonbury 0 – Ryan Dunnigan scored the goal with offensive help from Sean Burson and Austin Puleri. Josh Barrett and Justin Brophy were strong on defense and Jason Marks was outstanding in the net.

Crusaders 1, Farmington 0 – Ryan Dunnigan tallied another score with offensive support from Colin Cooper and Conrad Normann. Travis LeBlanc and Chris McGowan were strong in the midfield and Adam Ellison was awesome in the net.

Boys U12

Strikers 8, New Milford 0 – Dan Lynch notched a hat trick, Kyle Moore scored a pair and Alex Miller, Josh Engler and Tony Vacaro scored one apiece to lead the Striker onslaught. Nick Wright, Eric Thornberg and Michael Gould provided assists.

Girls U13

 

Rampage 3, Watertown 0 – Sara Kelley, Gina Pisacreta, and Kristen Tanner scored the goals with key assists from Susan Mason and Samantha Lockhart.    Added offensive pressure was applied by Ashley Kuligowski and Kirsten Hudock.  A strong defense was held by Ellen Ritzinger with Katie Pessin in goal.

Girls U14

Hurricanes 5, Torrington 1 – Kasey Schulz scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to lead the Hurricanes to the win. Cassie David, Sarah Shannon and Kelley Sullivan also scored while Kelley Anne Carney and Emily Weber contributed assists.
