Blood Drives Scheduled In Southbury, Newtown

The American Red Cross, Connecticut Blood Services Region will hold blood drives in Southbury and Newtown over the coming weeks.

On Wednesday, January 29, River Glen Health Care will host a drive at its facility at 162 South Britain Road from 1 to 5:45 pm. River Glen will host a second blood drive on January 12.

The next blood drive in Newtown will be held from 8:30 am to 6:45 pm on Monday, January 10, at Trinity Church, 36 Main Street.

Donating blood is safe, easy, and only takes about an hour. Anyone who is 17 or older, weighs 110 pounds or more and is in generally good health, probably is eligible to donate blood. Call 800-GIVE LIFE (800-448-3543) to make an appointment for any blood drive in Connecticut. Appointments may also be requested by visiting the website at www.bloodct.org. Positive ID is required at the time of donation.
