ALLENTOWN MUSEUM TO OFFER ART COURSE

ALLENTOWN, PENN. — The Allentown Art Museum will present an art appreciation course on Tuesdays, October 16–November 6, from 6:30 to 8 pm.

The course will take a close look at the decorative and fine arts of the Art Nouveau movement, an international style of art, architecture and design that peaked in popularity at the beginning of the Twentieth Century and was characterized by highly-stylized, flowing, curvilinear designs often incorporating floral and other plant-inspired motifs.

In each of the four sessions participants will deepen their understanding through art talks, behind-the-scenes opportunities and visits to the special exhibitions, “Tiffany by Design” and “Alphonse Mucha: Art Nouveau Extraordinaire.”

Each session will be led by a museum curator or guest expert. Early registration is recommended, space is limited to 20; call 610-432-4333, extension 10. Members $50, non-members $70.
