Anna U. Meehan

Anna U. Meehan, 92, wife of the late Bernard Meehan of 62 Mount Pleasant Road, Newtown, died April 10 at Mediplex of Danbury.

Mrs Meehan was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., June 4, 1908, daughter of the late Charles and Ursula Sturgis.

She was employed for 44 years by the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City. A resident of Newtown for the past eight years, Mrs Meehan was a longtime resident of Queens, N.Y.

Survivors include a son, Bernard Meehan, Sr, of Newtown and three grandsons, Lieutenant Bernard Meehan, Jr, Danbury Fire Department, of Roxbury, Robert Meehan of Danbury, and Christopher Meehan of Sandy Hook.

Due to the solemnity of Holy Week, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 16, at 10 am in St Rose of Lima Church.

A Graveside Committal Service was held on April 12 at Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.

Arrangements were by the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
