Correction Officer

State police report that on October 27, a Garner Correctional Institution inmate at the high-security prison on Nunnawauk Road assaulted a correction officer.

Inmate Claude Boiteux, 19, assaulted a correction officer in the prison gymnasium, state police said. The officer was not injured, according to state police.

State police arrested Boiteux on a charge of third-degree assault. Boiteux was scheduled for court arraignment on October 29.

Boiteux is an unsentenced inmate who is being held at Garner on a pending charge of possession or sale of a dangerous weapon.
