Jadwiga Szerszen

Jadwiga (Hedy) Szerszen, 69, of Newtown, died on November 18 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph Szerszen.

Born in Poland, she resided in Stratford for most of her life and moved to Newtown recently. Mrs Szerszen was a retired nurse’s aide, employed at Bridgeport Hospital.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Margaret Grega and her husband, John, of Newtown; and her two beloved grandchildren, Amanda and Evan Grega.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, November 21, at 9:15 am, in the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford, and at 10 am at St Michael the Archangel Church, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Maplegrove Cemetery, Easton.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, November 20, from 4 to 7 pm.
