Marie Carpenter

Nurse At Milford Schools

Marie Carpenter, 81, of Milford, beloved wife to the late William H. Carpenter, died September 3, at Milford Hospital. Daughter of Anthony and Susie Cacavali Caruso, she was born in New Haven, January 1, 1930.

She is survived by two sons, including Anthony “Chip” Carpenter, and his wife Diane Thompson, of Sandy Hook. She is also survived by her three cherished grandchildren. Being an only child, she leaves behind several brothers- and sisters-in-law, from the Hines family.

Mrs Carpenter was a school nurse in Milford, caring for students at Simon Lake, St Mary, St Gabriel, and St Ann Schools. She enjoyed playing bingo, tending to her yard and gardening, knitting, and crocheting. She was a member of the Milford Senior Center and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bill, before his death. She was a strong-willed person, loved being home and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

A funeral service took place September 7. Burial was in St Mary Cemetery, Milford. Cody White Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
