SCAN’s 37th Annual Juried Show Opens This Weekend

The 37th Annual Spring Juried Art Show of the Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will be presented Saturday, April 7, through Sunday, April 15, at Cyrenius H. Booth Library. Over 150 original works of fine art and sculpture will be exhibited and offered for sale.

“This annual juried show brings into the community an excellent representation of today’s contemporary accomplished artists competing for the prestigious awards being offered,” says show chair Anita Gregorski.  “This eight day show at the Cyrenius Booth Library is a ‘not to be missed opportunity’ to see some excellent art work.”

SCAN, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting fine art in western Connecticut, hosts two member shows and a juried show each year. Jurors for this year’s show are Abe Echevarria, Paul McCormack, and Peter Seltzer.

The exhibit will be in the library’s lower meeting room. The show will be open, free of charge, during normal library hours (the library is closed Sunday April 8).

The public is also invited to attend the reception and awards presentation to be held on the final afternoon of the show from 2 to 4 pm.

For more information about the show, contact Anita Gregorski at 203-758-9166.
