Community Colleges

Expand To Danbury

DANBURY — Registration has begun for classes at the City Center Campus, which offers credit and credit-free classes from Naugatuck Valley Community College and Norwalk Community College. People may register at Danbury Public Library, 170 Main St, on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 12 pm and 4 to 7 pm, Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 12 pm, Wednesdays from 1 to 7 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm.

City Center classes will be held at Rogers Park Middle School, 21 Memorial Drive, Danbury. Catalogs for the classes offered have been mailed to residents throughout the Danbury area. Credit courses that will be offered include English as a second language, literature, human services, psychology, and mathematics. Also, early childhood education, hospitality management, fire technology, and administration will be offered.

The middle school facility is the first step in creating a satellite campus for the two colleges. As enrollment grows, plans call for an expanded campus in a location on Main Street in downtown Danbury. Registration for fall classes at the library ends September 16. Late registrations will be accepted at the middle school September 18 through September 21 from 5 to 7 pm. For more information, call 203/596-8714.
