Sharpe Joins Ward Log Homes
Jane Sharpe, owner of Design Ltd. of Newtown, recently joined Ward Log Homes as an independent regional dealer, servicing Litchfield and Fairfield Counties in Connecticut, and Dutchess, Putnam, and Westchester Counties in New York.
Founded in 1923, Ward Log Homes is the nationâs oldest log home manufacturer. Ms Sharpe also represents Classic Post and Beam, a national leader in pre-cut timber frame homes.
Jane Sharpe and her husband, Donald, have lived in Ward Log Homes for 35 years, having built their present home in Sandy Hook 10 years ago. She has spent her career in marketing, sales, and communications positions, most recently serving as vice president of corporate communications and shareholder relations at Peopleâs Bank. Prior to joining Peopleâs, she held various marketing positions in businesses and universities and was an editor at the Waterbury Republican and New Haven Register daily newspapers.
Ward Log Homes was founded in Maine by Bruce Ward, who is credited with the invention of the manufactured log cabin. Based in Houlton, Maine, the company is the nationâs premier manufacturer of northern white cedar log homes. Today, 95 percent of log homes are full-time residences that meet or exceed modern energy and building code requirements.
