How To Read The Forested Landscape

DERBY — Have you ever wondered why the forest has certain characteristics?

Peter Rzasa will lead a hike through the grounds of the Kellogg Estate and Osbornedale State Park, and participants will learn how to learn the history of any forest.

The program will be on Saturday, August 25, from 10 am to noon. Join Mr Rzasa for an examination the forest landscape and reconstruct its history, using various clues they find along the way. Develop new observational skills and the knowledge of the kinds of clues to look for when interpreting forest history.

Participants should plan to be in the lobby of Kellogg Environmental Center, at 500 Hawthorne Avenue, by 10 am. This program is free to the public, but preregistration is required. To register or for more information, call the Kellogg Environmental Center at 734-2513.
