Vandals Cause $20,000 Damage To House Under Construction

Police learned on the morning of June 25 that someone had done more than

$20,000 worth of damage to a house under construction at Lot 6 on Briarwood

Lane in the Butterfield Woods subdivision off Butterfield Road.

Police said someone entered the house either through a basement window or the

rear door and did heavy physical damage, including extensive vandalism with

smeared paint. Obscenities were written in paint on mirrors and doors.

Cabinets were broken and concrete was poured into plumbing fixtures.

The crime constitutes first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree

criminal trespassing. Michael Burton Builders is the firm constructing the

house.
