After his honorable discharge, he studied at the University of Connecticut and the University of Bridgeport, achieving master’s degrees in both social psychology and counseling. He further trained with significant leaders in the fields of psychology and alternative medicines. Mr Corey’s career spanned four decades in psychotherapy, family therapy, and energy medicine. He had positions in teaching, research, and private practice in Norwalk, and until his death, Shelton and Newtown. He enjoyed athletics, classical music, and animals.

Mr Corey is survived by his devoted life partner, Susan J. Holmes; beloved son, William J. Corey, of Newtown; and sister, Claire Corey Mattson of Florida and Vermont.

A memorial in celebration of Mr Corey’s life will be held July 8, at 2 pm, at the Newtown Meeting House, Newtown.
