Free Depression Screening
DANBURY â Are you or someone you know showing signs of depression? Common symptoms of depression include feelings of sadness, loss of pleasure in usual activities, feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, and worthlessness, changes in sleep and appetite, loss of energy; restlessness and thoughts of death suicide.
If any of these symptoms sound all too familiar, you or someone you know may be suffering from depression.
Danbury Hospital Community Center for Behavioral Health (CCBH), located at 152 West Street, Danbury, will host a free depression screening and education program on National Depression Screening Day, Thursday, October 11, at CCBH. The program offers a choice from two private screening sessions at 7:30 to 9 am and 6 to 7:30 pm for a depression screening, talk with a mental health professional and referral, if needed, to local treatment services. No RSVP is necessary.
Depression is a medical illness and can affect anyone at any age. The good news is that depression is treatable. The National Depression Screening Day program at CCBH is completely confidential and no-pre-registration is necessary.
