Where Is The Respect?

To the Editor:

Today’s parade was lovely. Except that nobody but nobody but my daughter and I stood up when the color guard leading the parade passed by. Here were veterans of three conflicts bearing the colors of our nation, but nobody got up. How I wish the emcees saw the situation for the act of disrespect (Sloth?) that it was and reminded the populace to stand up for these gentlemen and for our flag.

Next year, I hope the parade emcees remind the fat, dumb, and stupid of Newtown to get on their feet in a show of respect for the men and women who lay it on the line so they can live their soft, insensitive, utterly disrespectful lives.
