Women Involved in Newtown (WIN), is once again seeking help from the public in creating Easter baskets to distribute to children in need this Easter season. Donations of Easter candy, gently used or new stuffed animals, and Easter baskets of all sizes are needed.

Two high school youth groups, the WINterns and Leo Club, are assisting WIN this year.

Every year, WIN fills 150 to 200 baskets for area children who otherwise would not receive an Easter basket. This year, WIN is working with Newtown Social Services, AIDS Interfaith Ministry, St Rose, Healing Hearts of Danbury, and Harmony House in Danbury to identify families needing assistance.

Donations may be dropped off at WIN member Mandy Monaco’s home, 1 Beckett Village in Sandy Hook, before Friday, April 11. For more information, call 203-426-5600.
