Ellen Windemere (Parsons) Strong, 82, died at her home in Grace Meadows, Southbury. She was born in Sandy Hook in 1914 to Vivian Wetmore and Birdsay Parsons.
She is survived by her daughters, Vivian Lawson and husband, Greg, of Palmya, Maine, Marjorie MacPherson and her husband, Robin, of Canaan, Maine, and Bernice Corliss and her husband, Clarence, formerly of Clifton, Tenn.; stepdaughter Adele Geisel and her husband, Bill, of New Milford; stepson Dick Strong and his wife, Mary Ann, of Bethany; and one sister, Sylvia Davidson and her husband, Howard, of Trumbull. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Ellen McGlincey, Susan McCaw, Robert MacPherson, John MacPherson, Anne Ayotte, Scott MacPherson, Edwin Corliss, Douglas Corliss, and Kevin Corliss; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs Strong was predeceased by her husband Richard Strong; a sister, Isobel Barth; two brothers, Francis and Bradford Parsons; a granddaughter, Ginger MacPherson; and her beloved Buffy.
The love of her life was her family and church. She joined South Britain Congregational Church in 1970 where she was a deaconess for ten years and a member of the womenâs fellowship and president for 12 years. You could always find her at the apron table at the Yule Tide Fair and Apple Festival. Mrs Strong was famous in her family for never forgetting anyoneâs birthday with a card.
Burial was at the Zoar Cemetery in Sandy Hook, Route 34, and November 6.

Funeral arrangements were by the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main Street North, Southbury.
