*Sandy Hook resident DARRYL GREGORY will be performing two sets of his original songs at Molten Java this weekend. Darryl’s show will begin at 8 at 102 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel.

*Also this weekend — tonight, in fact — Newtown resident JIM ALLYN will be back at The Blue Z Coffee House on South Main Street. Jim and some friends will begin their show around 8.

*LAURA SUMNER returns to Mocha Coffee House in Sandy Hook tonight, with plans to perform a “slightly stripped down acoustic rendering of [her … ‘dreamy’] album” Dreamology, her first recording. Showtime is 8 pm.

Tomorrow night Mocha will welcome jazz a cappella vocalist AMANDA BLOOM, who lists everyone from Jeff Buckley and Jewel to Radiohead and Aphex Twin as influences. Hers will also be an 8 pm show.

Southbury based singer-songwriter PHIL BOWLES, who performs acoustic folk, rock and indie music, will open the music area at Mocha next weekend, offering an acoustic show at 8 pm Friday.

*OLD SCHOOL will return to Proud Mary’s next weekend, playing a Friday night show that will get going around 8.
