Wilton Landscapes

And More

WILTON — Weir Farm, Ambler Farm and Cannondale are just a few of the locales represented in Tina Waring’s art exhibition “Wilton Landscapes and More” opening on Sunday, December 10, from 11:30 am to 1 pm, at Wilton Library. The exhibit will be on view through December 29. More than 40 paintings will be on exhibit and most are available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library.

Ms Waring works in oils, pastels and watercolors in what she refers to as Connecticut Impressionism. According to Ms Waring, “I have lived and painted in Connecticut most of my life and have felt a strong connection with the Connecticut Impressionists. Almost always I paint on site and only adjust the paintings later in the studio.”

Ms Waring started her studies under the direction of Robert Brackman, a master from the Art Student’s League while he resided in her summer town of Madison. She went on to earn a bachelor of arts in fine arts magna cum laude from Briarcliff College.

Wilton Library is at 137 Old Ridgefield Road. For additional information call 203-762-3950 or visit WiltonLibrary.org.
