St John’s Drive-Thru Gourmet Donut Day

St John’s Church in Sandy Hook will hold its last  gourmet donut drive-thru of the summer on Saturday, August 25, from 9 am to 1 pm at the church, on Washington Avenue.

The fundraising event will feature sweet milk donuts freshly made by church member Bruce Moulthrop, scones made by Mary Fellows,  and Wolfgang Puck-signature coffee from California.

Donuts, freshly made from scratch by the church members, will be $6 a dozen, $3 a half dozen. A generous cup of coffee will be $1. Cream and herbal sugar also will be available.

Drivers will enter from Washington Avenue (Route 34) and exit through The Villa parking lot.

“You won’t even have to get out of your car,” said Mary Fellows, one of the event organizers. “So drive through, pick up a dozen with a cup o’ Joe and spend the morning on your porch or deck. Smiles will be served for free.”
