Natalie Ann Hewitt, age 80, widow of the late Clinton A. Hewitt of Sandy Hook, died on August 15.

Mrs Hewitt was born on August 27, 1925, in New York City, the younger of two children of Thomas and Anne Gleason. Natalie and her husband of 57 years raised five children in the village of Garden City on Long Island. She was active in her community, and The Garden City Casino.

In 1950 she and her husband bought a summer cottage in Sandy Hook and spent the next 50 years enjoying life at the river during the summer months. In 1986 she and her husband moved permanently to Sandy Hook, where they enjoyed many visits from her seven grandchildren.

She is survived by five children, Clint Hewitt, Jr, of Newtown, Natalie Hoeffel of Newtown, Nancy Hewitt of Ocala, Fla., Ruth Wronski of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Drew Hewitt of Houston, Texas.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on August 26, at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Hospice and Palliative Care of Connecticut, 237 East Aurora Street, Waterbury CT 06708, or Newtown Ambulance Association, PO Box 344, Newtown CT 06470.

Arrangements were handled by Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown.
