Welcome To Town, Caraluzzi, But No Twinkies Please
Welcome To Town, Caraluzzi,
But No Twinkies Please
To the Editor:
So we now know that for years C&S, a Big Y wholesaler, through its lease on the former Grand Union has effectively prevented any town-center competition to the Big Y, and in the process left Newtown with a deteriorating eyesore.
And we now know that, happily, the lease has ended and we can look forward both to an upgrading of the Eton Center and a grocery shopping alternative to the world class hype.
Welcome to town, Caraluzzi.
On another subject, The Bee recently reported the curious results of a Dutch study that found that the lifetime health costs of obese people or smokers are less than that of thin, healthy people. The reason? The obese and smokers die sooner.
So, if you are concerned about long-term health costs, eat your Twinkies, smoke your Camels, and stop worrying.
