GREENWICH SHOW SECTION INTRODUCTION w/3 cuts â no cutlines RSS
Going into its sixth year under the management of B&D Johnson Antiques, The Greenwich Fall Kiwanis Antiques Show returns October 13â14, with a fine group of repeat and new exhibitors. The show has built its reputation on the quality antiques offered, of many different levels, from early American furniture to jewelry, suitable for almost any budget.
The Greenwich Fall Antiques Show is the primary fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Greenwich, a non-profit organization of local businessmen and women who care about their community. The Kiwanis Club actively supports many areas of the community in need, with their work including several scholarship programs and financial support of the local YWCA. The entire revenue generated from the antiques show admissions goes to the Kiwanis Club. They are the friendly faces that greet you at the show entrance and will gladly fill you in on how to further help their causes.
Aside from its fundraising effort, another key goal of the Greenwich Kiwanis Antiques Shows is to provide a setting where quality antiques are accessible to all levels of buyers. The idea of collecting antiques should not be intimidating. An eclectic group of exhibitors has been assembled that will make your buying experience enjoyable, educational and worthwhile. Those that have attended the show before have taken advantage of the quality offerings at surprisingly realistic prices. The many repeat buyers prove this.
As you enter the show, many familiar faces will be there to greet you with their stunning displays. Richard A. Smith, formerly Portland Antiques, and Don Heller of Heller-Washam will wow you with their fine selection of Eighteenth Century American antiques, including period Chippendale furniture and nautical items. Dana Tillou Fine Art, Essex Antiquarians, Martin Chasin, R&S Antiques and Donald Bethune are just a few of the many familiar dealers who will be offering fine Americana, Georgian arts, and silver.
First time exhibitors this year include a couple of new faces, as well as some familiar names in the business. Nula Thanhauser of Philadelphia will be showcasing her couture handbags and Foo Lions, Inc of Wilton will be bringing an eclectic mix of Asian Arts. Also joining the show is David Neligan of Essex, Mass., a well established dealer of Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century Continental decorative arts. Also, Ed Becker of The Colony Shop Antiques and Art, Fayetteville, N.Y., has been a long-time dealer favorite. His tastes are varied but with one constant, quality.       Â
B&D Johnson, the Kiwanis Club of Greenwich and the exhibitors of The Greenwich Fall Antiques Show cordially invite you to come down and experience the most eclectic, fine quality antiques show in Fairfield County. Located at the Old Greenwich Civic Center, just minutes off I-95 and the Metro-North Railway.
