Jugglers, spin art, and the fruits of one shopaholic’s many retail purchases will be among the things drawing visitors to a first of its kind parking lot festival and tag sale this weekend. The EverWonder Children’s Museum will be the beneficiary of proceeds from the Pecks Lane Festival & Community Tag Sale coming up Saturday, July 19, from 9 am to 4 pm, at 31 Pecks Lane.

Co-organizer and museum neighbor LeReine Frampton of LeReine’s Cuisine, Renee Wilson of Total Performance Sports & Fitness, and Karen Smiley of the museum have all but finalized plans for the planned family-friendly event. Many participants have reserved single- and double-car-length booth spaces, with most vendors looking to off load unused or unneeded items from their basements, attics, and garages.

Ms Frampton said one vendor will be coming with a truck load of brand-new home goods and small appliances, still in their original packaging.

“He said these items were all purchased new, stored away, and never opened,” she said. “He will even be able to show folks most of the original receipts for all the items he’s planning to resell.”

The festival will feature a central “play zone” that will be surrounded by the tag sale stations so parents can keep an eye on youngsters while they peruse the booths. There will also be a “therapy pony,” face painting, and a fire engine touch-a-truck.

Everwonder Children’s Museum will be open and offering spin art, as well as a station where young prospectors can “dig for gems” that they can keep.

Members of Newtown Juggling & Circus Arts Club will be on hand from 10 am to noon, visitors can check out demonstrations by a local origami artist, sample treats from a local Tastefully Simple vendor, or enjoy a free massage from the folks at Jamberry.

Newtown Hook & Ladder will be providing food and refreshments, and the fitness center is planning a boot camp workout.
